Importance of newspapers in our life
Today’s world is ruled and run by the media. Media provides us with up-to-date information and newspaper is the oldest family member of the media. Today though there are many fast methods of gaining information still newspaper has its own place and importance in the life of man.
Newspaper not only provides us with information but also help to mould public opinion. The newspaper also provides us with a platform to advocate social reforms introduced by the reformers. Press also alerts man against the harmful products sold in the market. It also criticises the government for the wrongs done by her and raises a voice of protest through its special column.
Newspaper no doubt is a very powerful media. It has the power to install or overthrow a government from its power, therefore press owes a great responsibility to be fair and just whenever it prints any news. It is like a loaded gun that has the power to destroy the peace of a nation. The newspaper also does the great social job by printing an appeal of a needy family who wishes to approach the social welfare society in her column thus drawing the attention of the charitable trusts. Thus, we can see how the newspaper serves the nation and also helps in shaping the destiny of a nation.
