 International Yoga Day- According to Indian tradition, the sun becomes Dakshinayana after the summer solstice. It is said that the time of Dakshinayana of the Sun is very beneficial in attaining spiritual attainments. For this reason, June 21 is celebrated as ‘International Yoga Day’. On this occasion, 35985 people performed yoga together in Delhi, in which representatives from 84 countries were present and India made two world records and registered its name in the ‘Guinness Book of World Records’. People are made to do yoga, then the second is to do the yoga of the people of most countries simultaneously.

Benefits Of Yoga 


At present, yoga is widely adopted for physical, mental and spiritual health and peace. On 11 December 2014, the United Nations General Assembly recognized 21 June as World Yoga Day each year and the first International Yoga Day was celebrated on 21 June 2015. For the first time, Yoga was organized in 192 countries on the occasion of World Yoga Day, including 47 Muslim countries.

International Yoga Day is celebrated annually on 21 June and was declared to be internationally recognized by the United Nations General Assembly on 11 December 2014 Yoga is a physical, mental and spiritual practice or discipline that was invented in Indian soil.


The declaration of this day came after the call for the adoption of 21  June as International Day of Yoga by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his address to UN General Assembly on 27 September 2014. Narendra Modi had said: The date is the longest day of the year in the northern hemisphere and has special significance in many parts of the world.”


It is wonderful that 21 June marks this momentous ‘ event in the history of humanity. The celebration of the event International Day of Yoga is supported by various global leaders. It is celebrated by the people of more than 180rountries. , ‘


It is celebrated to let people know that regular yoga practise leads to better mental, physical and intellectual health. It positively by changes the lifestyle of the people and creases the level of wellbeing.
